Thijs Adrichem aka: Le Voix du monde, The Groovelab. For as long as he can remember, music has been an integral part of Thijs his life. By age seven he ccompanied his father working in broadcast recording studios and became highly interested in the process of recording instruments and vocals. While Thijs accompanied his father to recording studios he learned to support the engineers during recording and editing and got familiar with electronic music instruments and recording gear available in the studios. A close friend of his family, who owned a recording studio, offered Thijs individual trainings in audio engineering with synthesizers and drum machines. Completely hooked on and aware of the unlimited creative possibilities of electronic music instruments, mid 1988 Thijs was following the up-and-coming phenomena called “House Music” and focussed on writing and remixing electronic music. With remixing and releasing white label bootlegs, the first steps of making “House Music” were established and the magic had only just begun.
Sending demos to established and upcoming labels followed and in 1993 persistence ultimately paid off in label deals and releases on numerous labels like Tremolo, Spinnin’ Records and Fresh Fruit Records. Collaborations with other DJ’s, producers and labels such as Azuli and AM-PM and many other international singers and songwriters, resulted in successful releases and remixes, like Master Freakz – Let Yourself Go and Mastermind – Free 2 Do Whatever on Spinnin’ Records and The Groove lab EP 1 to 8 on Fresh Fruit Records.
1999 gave birth to his alias “Le voix du monde” (The voice of the world) with the smashing Fresh Fruit Records tech house release “Tribal Tunes” a fusion of tech house with vibrant African percussion and chanting. Presently his preference for blending ethnic elements and soulful deep house promote the appreciation, understanding and practice of African tribal rhythms, its culture and cultural traditions, always with the dance floor in mind.
